The diagram above is a schematic of the pipeline I designed for my last post as character TD on the show Gaspard and Lisa. You can see how the individual scripts were conceived as components of a larger character framework. The key to tying these together into a common system was XML. Most tools used it to store information and this was networked so that when an animator used the facial system to write an expression preset, this was instantly available to the entire animation team.
